It Worked?

So I mentioned yesterday that the lactation consultant suggested that K might not "need" his midnight feedings anymore.  Her thought was that he might want a mid-evening snack, but not the 2 to 3 full feedings we had been averaging each night.  The three days prior he had been waking and demanding to be fed (or so we thought) only to fall asleep at the table 5 minutes later.

Anyway, she must have been on to something because last night we hit a milestone.  K slept from 10 pm to 1:45 am.  This is the longest stretch of time he has slept (day or night) since he was born.  It was heaven for Joel and me.  After Konrad's dinner ended at 9:30, I promptly fell into a deep sleep before even reading the first words on the page of "What to Expect the First Year" that I was hoping to read.  Joel did his normal routine of "walking" K while in front of the microwave fan (which, by the way, is the best money we've ever spent!)  K was out within 10 minutes.  After that neither of us heard a peep (nor did we notice this) until 1:45 am.  After a brief meal he was back to bed and quiet again until after 4 am.

I am so proud of my baby boy.  What a little man he's growing into.  Here's hoping we can break 5 hours by next month!

  1. I love this! I hope I can find it again. While Konrad is very hansome, I think Joel is even better looking now than in your wedding pictures - but you are prettier too. Married life must agree with both of you.
